NOAA provides the official marine forecast for Southwest Florida and should always be considered the authoritative source before you leave the dock.
Marine forecasting is inherently challenging. Local conditions can change rapidly because of sea breezes, localized thunderstorms, tides and other coastal influences that are difficult to capture in a regional forecast.
Experienced captains often combine the official NOAA forecast with years of local knowledge and real-world observations when deciding where, when and how to run.
WMDAN was created to provide that local perspective — helping anglers and boaters better understand how official NOAA forecasts may translate to actual conditions across Southwest Florida. It is a companion to NOAA, never a replacement for it.
